Chelsea has set the selling price for Conor Gallagher to Tottenham.

Tottenham is planning to sell Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in January to generate funds for the acquisition of Chelsea’s star midfielder, Conor Gallagher.

Conor Gallagher is expected to depart Stamford Bridge in January 2024 as Chelsea seeks funds to sign a new striker, meeting the requirements of manager Mauricio Pochettino. The English midfielder was previously listed for transfer in the summer of 2023.Although Pochettino is reluctant to lose Gallagher, Chelsea aims to upgrade other positions after spending nearly £300 million on midfielders Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, and Lavia. Thus, The Blues’ board is willing to sell Gallagher.The 23-year-old midfielder’s contract with Chelsea is valid until 2025, and contract extension negotiations have not progressed. Chelsea aims to sell Gallagher next month to maximize the transfer fee.Tottenham has been linked with Gallagher since the summer, and their interest remains strong as manager Ange Postecoglou seeks to continue rebuilding the London-based team. According to The Sun, Tottenham intends to sell Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in January and use the funds to sign Conor Gallagher from Chelsea.Despite Hojbjerg’s considerable playing time this season, his style does not align with Postecoglou’s long-term vision. The Danish midfielder has attracted interest from Fulham and Bayern Munich.Similar to Gallagher, Hojbjerg’s contract runs until 2025, and Spurs are willing to sell him in January. Tottenham will reportedly need to pay £50 million for Gallagher, as Chelsea values the English midfielder highly and aims to secure a substantial fee for their star player.
